The perfect weekend.

Derek and I went to Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs for the weekend to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary.  Derek had been working like crazy for the last few weeks, so a relaxing weekend was exactly what he (we) needed, and it was so great to enjoy it together.  We laid by the pool for most of the time, but we also treated ourselves to a suuuper relaxing couples massage…oh man was that ever amazing.  We will definitely be back to Ace – it was very much our style.  Everything’s decorated with a vintage, hand-picked flare, and nothing is without character.  Mmm.mmm.mmm.  Love it.

Also, we started a new tradition!  Since not only did Derek propose to me with photobooth strips, but we also had a photobooth at our wedding, we are going to take a photos in a photobooth each year on our anniversary!  Lucky for us, the Ace Hotel has an old black and white photobooth in their lobby.  Meant to be.

I’m pretty sure I’m more in love with Derek now than I ever have been before.  He’s the best I could ask for.

Mornings with this guy. 😍 Doing some laundry today while bebe naps, and realized that a pair of his newborn jeans (which totally fit him) are literally smaller than a pair of socks. So freaking cute. ♡ #fbf to 5 weeks ago when I was in labor {5 weeks early} with our little Wilder! Today was his original estimated due date, and all day I've been thinking about how I've been lucky enough to get 5 extra weeks with this wrinkly, perfect bundle of love. | photo by @jadebrookbank | #wildercobalt Wilder & I finally got out of the house and had a little breakfast/coffee date with @urbanic at @gjustabakery. Good to feel like a human participating in life, even if just for a moment. 😉 This sweet boy has surpassed his birth weight by a whole pound this week! We couldn't be more proud of our little guy. Big appointment with the doctor tomorrow for an official weigh-in. Think chubby thoughts! | #wildercobalt Today marks one month since this sweet little boy made me a momma. I couldn't be more honored to be that for him. This little one is mine! ♡ In memory of my Grammy Betty, @_derekhansen and I wanted to do something small to honor her. We left some flowers on the point of the jetty after telling her we miss her. A couple days late, but as Grammy would understand, newborn life is unpredictable. ;) Obviously I stayed on shore, as I was wearing Wilder! What a gorgeous day it is here in Venice. We took a morning stroll down to the beach to break in the @ergobaby carrier and enjoy some sunshine! ☼ | #lovecarrieson #wildercobalt #venice Only 1 week to go till my due date! 😉 Our little Wilder sure did have his own ideas for when he wanted to come! Tomorrow he is 4 weeks old...time flies. | #wildercobalt One year ago today, my beautiful, inspiring and always loving Grammy Betty passed from this life. As I hold my sweet baby boy and think of her today, I am so grateful for the life she helped give me, and the lessons she taught me, always encouraging and cheering me on along the way. I miss you every day, Grammy.
